What this platform has drawn from it — 5 claims
- NICE CG141 recommends offering terlipressin at presentation to patients with suspected variceal bleeding, stopping treatment after definitive haemostasis has been achieved or after 5 days. NICE records that at the time of publication terlipressin was licensed for a maximum treatment duration of 72 hours, so the recommended duration is an off-label use.

How this record was checked, and what is doubtful about it
Recommendations page fetched and read in full; no withdrawal or supersession banner. Section 1.5 'Management of variceal bleeding' is the section used here and is unchanged since the 2016 update. Note that the page's 'last updated 2016-08-25' field understates editorial activity elsewhere in the guideline: recommendation 1.2.8 now cites NICE TA697 (2025). nice.org.uk returns HTTP 403 to automated fetchers without a browser user-agent; that is an access restriction, not a dead link (ADR-0016).
